Zynga for copyright infringement.

· Google acquired
Admeld for roughly $400M.
Admeld is an advertising optimization platform for publishers.
The move bolsters Google’s positions for both the ad call (automated requests) and the auction (excess inventory auctioned off, Admeld's field) spaces of the display advertising market.
· Verizon Wireless and mobile payments company,
Payfone, have announced a new partnership, which enables
Verizon customers to pay for online purchases using their mobile devices. Unlike traditional payments networks,
Payfone, leverages the security built into the mobile operator network while processing transactions.
· FuzeBox, the developer of an online meeting software, introduced Telepresence Connect.
Fuze’s video technology provides a WebEx-like conferencing service that allows users to share screens and run meetings online. Companies can now also engage their workforce or clients on the iPad, and other mobile devices.
· Zynga has launched CityVille Hometown, its mobile version of CityVille. The new game’s social component allows users to exchange resources, energy, and limited edition virtual goods with their
Facebook friends who play CityVille.
· Tapad is bringing “retargeting” (ads are served from site history) to mobile devices. The complexity of cookies and other tracking tools on mobile phones makes retargeting difficult, but on its current small scale runs Tapad has achieved retargeting success.
· Everloop, a social network for children under 13 years of age, has raised $3.1MM. The site aims to be the Facebook of the under 13 years old crowd.
Everloop features many monitoring and security properties for parents.
· Crowdstar (games) has expanded into mobile with its launch of Top Girl for the iPhone. The game is free to play and targets the 18 to 35 female audience which has traditionally been underserved despite the fact that women make up 50% of mobile social gamers.
VC/Industry
· Venture investment in network security startups is on the rise. The recent headlines of corporate and government network attacks and the transition from desktops towards mobile and the clouds are the main factors for the sector’s rise.
· Accel Partners has raised two new funds, $475MM for its eleventh venture fund and $875MM for its second growth fund. The 82% increase in the growth fund’s size highlights the firm’s commitment to its growth investment strategy of investing in mature, cash-flow positive companies that haven’t raised any venture capital.
· TVV Capital has raised $25.55MM of a targeted $100MM. This is the VC’s third fund and thus far involves 26 investors.
